Some cancer patients are luckier than others when it comes to insurance

It sounds strange to say that I feel fortunate, but I am. Over the past seven years, I’ve been able to watch my daughter and son graduate both from high school and from college. My wife and I travel extensively and, yes, we go to the beach or the mountains every year.

Since 2013, I have been taking an oral anti-cancer medication. It is the most effective option for my medical situation and I will likely be on it for the rest of my life.

For myself and all cancer patients, our lawmakers need to do the right thing and pass federal legislation to ensure we all have access to life-saving medications and to help us all in winning the fight against cancer.
